Sound Investment, a leading Event Production and Sales & Installation company with a national footprint, is looking for a detail-orientated and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join a fast-paced and expanding accounting department in its Chicago headquarters. The role is required to work onsite Monday through Friday 9 am - 5pm

 

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate is someone who is a self-starter that can thrive in both a corporate and start-up type environment. They should possess strong technical and interpersonal skills as well as strong organizational skills. This role requires an exceptional level of attention to detail and communication skills (both written and verbal).

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Managing accounts payable using accounting software and other programs 
  • Handling accounts payable for separate entities and vendors 
  • Managing credit card bills and payments, as well as employee expense reports
  • Analyzing workflow processes 
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing vendors 
  • Ensuring bills and payroll are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures 
  • Processing due invoices for payments 
  • Comparing purchase orders, prices, terms of payment and other charges
  • Processing transactions and performing accounting duties such as account maintenance, recording entries and reconciling books of accounts
 

The experience we are looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (3-5 years)
  • Minimum 3 years experience handling Account Payables and Receivables
  • Experience with QuickBooks (preferably QuickBooks Enterprise)
  • Candidates with prior production experience and/or familiarity with event production terminology will be shown preference

Salary Range: $58,000 - $62,500
